Although, labels should not matter as they (still) tend to objectify over human complexity, it brings up to surface the translation / representation of <gender > into social space. This virtual identity #shout(s) out to a sensory and imaginative concept of identification through videogame related characters. An empathic form of identity and strong emotional connection with the < avatar > as a set of default actions / assets that translate into tools / text of visual representation.

Sybil

Sibyl explores the self-fulfilling prophecy of prediction. As machine learning allows artificial intelligence to make faster, better predictions, we can argue that these are a mirror in a mirror, rather than a prediction. Sibyl performs a repetitive dance in which every movement starts and ends in the same way, representing the looping mirroring of AI predictability. Sibyl is a single channel video loop, created by merging volumetric capture techniques, video processing and StyleGAN, in which a model has been trained based on a large data set of similar images, in order to obtain a not-so surprising similarity with the original data set. The intent and intervention are present and necessary not only at the beginning of the process, but at the end of it, through a minutious and laborious digital but yet manual controlled frame by frame process. The post GAN intervention is key to the piece, a generated work that is obtained through a “prediction” of the initial intent, by selecting a specifically restricted data model, that would generate seemingly looking results. In times of an obsession with predictions and hindsight one wonders whether it is more important to learn to ask better questions, instead of relegating the role of imagination to the unreal and to fantasy, instead of pre programming
answers from machines, that regurgitate predictable outputs with no out-stretched lingering to the infinite. The capacity to number and limit reality into data, is hardening the borders with dreaming, vanishing, wishing and imagining,
creating a time space vacuum, in which a mirror is reflected in another mirror, swallowing itself in an eternal void.

The video is a short version of my project “Walkabout”, inspired by the long ritual journey that Aboriginal Australians occasionally undertake by crossing the expanses of the Australian bush on foot. These walks in the desert play an essential role in allowing contact and exchanges of resources (both material and spiritual) between populations separated by enormous distances. A give, take and return, not only among people, but also between living creatures and the earth: the transformation of life.

In the man-made waterways of rice paddies, the water in nature must follow artificial rules. In that way, nature is made abstract, giving rise to a new form of beauty distinct from the natural state. The theme of this work is the liveliness of the water as it follows the man-made course. This work is a ballet using the sound and the movement of the algae and water. With the waterway as the theater, I filmed the choreography of the algae that flows in the water and I kept only the frequency that sounds like the voice of a person. The resulting sound is like a chorus.

VOZ EN OFF

This 3D animation investigates contemporary digital aesthetics and its influence on the perception of the human body. With the approach of art as a medium for exploring social coexistence and as a means of ending the structural suppression of people, fantasies and visions, this work takes the media overload of stimuli to the absurd.

VOICE-OFF
There is no world so flat as a section of a wall. It must join the segmet of a circle. Roving back to the body of which it seems so unlikely apart. To fence in and sore the face on which the effort of this condition reads. Like a pinpoint of a smile. A spark or star is not sure not having seen as darkness resumes. A pervers light who is impertive of sublty dumes in advance its conseed to light up.
