JUAN CRUZ

Periodista vocacional, escritor y amante de las palabras, no hay periodista que no haya leído a Juan Cruz. Se licenció en Periodismo e Historia en la Universidad de la Laguna (Tenerife). Después de trabajar en La Tarde y El Día, fue uno de los fundadores de El País, en 1976, donde comenzó a trabajar como corresponsal en Londres. En su primera etapa en el diario fue también jefe de Cultura y de Opinión. Coordinador de los proyectos del Grupo PRISA y director de Comunicación del Grupo Santillana, fue editor de Alfaguara y regresó a El País para quedarse, diario del que hoy es adjunto a la dirección. Desde 1972 con Crónica de la Nada hecha pedazos, Premio Benito Pérez Armas, ha escrito más de una veintena de novelas, cuentos, ensayos, libros de entrevistas, etc. Cruz ha colaborado en “La Mirada Crítica” de Telecinco; en “La Ventana” de la SER, en la sección Leer y releer, junto a la escritora Almudena Grandes, ha participado en numerosas conferencias y cursos y es profesor invitado de la Escuela de Periodismo UAM –El País. Ha sido galardonado con diversos premios, entre ellos también el Azorín de Novela o el Premio Nacional de Periodismo Cultural 2012.

Vocational journalist, writer and lover of words, there is no journalist who has not read Juan Cruz. He graduated in Journalism and History at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife). LISI PRADA

La artista Lisi Prada vive y trabaja en Madrid, donde obtuvo su licenciatura (Universidad Complutense) y parte de su formación musical (Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid). En su labor creativa, busca un equilibrio entre lo conceptual y lo sensorial, entre ética y estética. Se sitúa en una posición cercana al ‘arte povera’ y utiliza la polivalencia lingüística como recurso para simultanear múltiples capas de significación. Tras varios años de aprendizaje y experimentación, en 2009 mostró en público por primera vez una de sus videocreaciones, por la que recibió una mención especial en la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España. A partir de 2011, no ha parado de exhibir en exposiciones colectivas, muestras y festivales, galerías, museos y espacios de arte nacionales e internacionales de más de cuarenta países. Cuenta con distinciones en distintos géneros de vídeo creación: VideoEnsayo [PRIMER PREMIO en FIVAC, CEDINM, Cuba 2017], Poetry Film [ZEBRA. Babylon Kino, Berlín, 2012], Videoarte [TRANSFERA y MADATAC. MNCARS, 2011], Abstract Art in Motion & Visual Music [PUNTO Y RAYA. MNCARS, 2011] y Cortometraje [MOVIFILM. Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España, 2009].

The artist Lisi Prada lives and works in Madrid, where she obtained her degree (Complutense University) and part of her musical training (Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid). In his creative work, he seeks a balance between the conceptual and the sensory, between ethics and aesthetics. It is situated in a position close to ‘arte povera’ and uses linguistic polyvalence as a resource to combine multiple layers of meaning. After several years of learning and experimentation, in 2009 he showed for the first time one of his video creations, for which he received a special mention at the Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain. Since 2011, it has not stopped exhibiting in collective exhibitions, exhibitions and festivals, galleries, museums and national and international art spaces from more than forty countries. He has distinctions in different genres of video creation: VideoEnsayo [FIRST PRIZE at FIVAC, CEDINM, Cuba 2017], Poetry Film [ZEBRA. Babylon Kino, Berlin, 2012], Videoart [TRANSFERA and MADATAC. EMILIO PI

El navarro Emilio Pi es uno de los coleccionistas más destacados de España desde los años 90. En 2000 el conjunto artístico adquirido junto a Helena Fernandino, comienza a configurarse como colección de videoarte al superar el número de obras realizadas en este soporte al de pintura y fotografía. Su colección está integrada por más de 300 piezas y un archivo de más de mil obras en edición limitada y compilaciones. Entre ellas, trabajos de pioneros como Vito Acconci, Bruce Nauman, Muntadas, Ulrike Rosenbach, Wu Tien-Chang, junto a artistas que han desarrollado la imagen en movimiento con otros discursos como Yang Fudong, Douglas Gordon, Tracey Emin, Willie Doherty, Hiraki Sawa, Marina Abramovich, Vanessa Beecroft, Antoni Muntadas, Sergio Prego, Patricia Esquivias, etc. Una colección, según el crítico Álvarez Reyes, citando a Huyssen, que posee “una huella utópica y participa de los recuerdos de la utopía, puesto que la nostalgia, que aspira a la realidad de que aquello que no existe, en las obras de arte se transforma en recuerdo”. Diferentes secciones de la colección han sido exhibidas en el MNCARS, VIVA, MOCA de Seúl, Hara Museum de Tokio, Centro Pompidou, Museu Nacional do Conjunto Cultural da Republica do Brasilia, Museo Vostell, etc. Durante varias ediciones han sido galardonados con el premio al coleccionismo privado que otorga la feria ARCO.
