The First Virtual Chernobyl Exhibition Presented During the COVID-19 Pandemic.


ARTEFACT: Chernobyl is the first in the world virtual exhibition dedicated to the Chernobyl accident that was created for an online experience and in VR headsets, presented on MADATAC XI festival with the support of the Cultural Foundation of Ukraine. The exhibits of ARTEFACT: Chernobyl are very diverse works. Among them are the artworks of famous Ukrainian artists: The Chernobyl series by Maria Prymachenko, who lived on the edge of the Exclusion Zone, a series of prophetic paintings by Ivan Marchuk, a 3D photo by Arsen Savadov, as well as the artworks of young artists, whose names are new in Ukrainian media art. More than 100 Ukrainian artists have been working on creating ARTEFACT: Chernobyl, so that more than 50 new artworks will be seen by the whole world online and completely free from the PC. The works created with VR and AR technologies, laser and video installations, neurointerface technology and parametric architecture are now also completely transmitted to cyberspace. All these artworks are also presented in separate virtual spaces with their own atmosphere and senses. Everyone can visit them using a PC or smartphone, but maximum immersion can be obtained only with VR headsets. With a new form they acquired new characteristics and context. ARTEFACT is an innovative Ukrainian social and cultural project that with the new technologies of contemporary art draws attention to important issues, based on the example of the Chernobyl accident. The artists invite us to rethink the tragedy of our past. The accident at the Chernobyl
nuclear power plant is an example of the informational catastrophe within one state that can have consequences for the whole world. The project is implemented with the support of the Cultural Foundation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Ukrainian State Agency for the Management of Exclusion Zones, the National Chernobyl Museum, the European Chernobyl Institute and the Center PRYPYAT.com.

ARTEFACT: Chornobil es la primera exposición virtual del mundo dedicada al accidente de Chornobil, que fue creada para una experiencia en línea y en cascos de realidad virtual, presentada en el festival MADATAC XI con el apoyo de la Fundación Cultural de Ucrania. Las exposiciones de ARTEFACT: Chornobil son obras muy diversas. Entre ellas se encuentran las obras de arte de famosos artistas ucranianos: la serie Chornobil de Maria Prymachenko, que vivió en el borde de la Zona de Exclusión, una serie de pinturas proféticas de Ivan Marchuk, una foto en 3D de Arsen Savadov, así como las obras de arte de jóvenes artistas, cuyos nombres son nuevos en el arte mediático ucraniano. Más de 100 artistas ucranianos han estado trabajando en la creación de ARTEFACT: Chornobil, para que más de 50 nuevas obras de arte sean vistas en todo el mundo en línea y completamente gratis desde un ordenador o un dispositivo móvil. Las obras fueron creadas con tecnologías VR y AR, a partir de instalaciones de láser y video a tecnología de neurointerfaces y arquitectura paramétrica y que ahora se pueden contemplar por completo desde el ciberespacio. Todas estas obras de arte  se presentan en espacios virtuales separados con su propia atmósfera y sentidos. Cualquiera puede visitarlos usando un ordenador, pero la máxima inmersión solo se puede obtener mediante gafas de realidad virtual. Con esta nueva forma adquirieron nuevas características y contexto diferente. ARTEFACT es un innovador proyecto social y cultural ucraniano que con las nuevas tecnologías del arte contemporáneo llama la atención sobre temas importantes, basándose en el ejemplo del accidente de Chornobil. Los artistas nos invitan a repensar la tragedia de nuestro pasado. El accidente en la central nuclear de Chornobil es un ejemplo de como una catástrofe informativa dentro de un estado puede tener consecuencias para todo el mundo. El proyecto se implementa con el apoyo de la Fundación Cultural de Ucrania, el Ministerio de Cultura y Política de Información de Ucrania, la Agencia Estatal de Ucrania para la Gestión de Zonas de Exclusión, el Museo Nacional de Chornobil, el Instituto Europeo de Chornobil y el Centro PRYPYAT.com.

АРТЕФАКТ: Чорнобиль – це перша у світі віртуальна виставка, присвячена Чорнобильській аварії, яка була створена для онлайн-досвіду та в VR-шоломах, представлена ​​на фестивалі MADATAC XI за підтримки Фонду культури України. Експонати «АРТЕФАКТ: Чорнобиль» – дуже різноманітні роботи. Серед них – твори відомих українських художників: Чорнобильська серія Марії Примаченко, яка мешкала на межі зони відчуження, серія пророчих картин Івана Марчука, 3D-фото Арсена Савадова, а також твори молодих художники, імена яких є новими в українському медіа-мистецтві. Понад 100 українських художників працювали над створенням ARTEFACT: Чорнобиль, завдяки чому більше 50 нових творів будуть побачені усім світом в Інтернеті та повністю вільні від комп’ютера. Експонати, які були створені з використанням VR та AR-технологій, лазерних та відео-інсталяцій, нейроінтерфейсу та параметричної архітектури відтепер повністю перенесені у віртуальний формат.Всі ці експонати також представлені окремими віртуальним просторами зі своїм настроєм та контекстом, зануритись у які можна з будь-якої точки світу просто з браузера комп’ютера чи смартфона, але ж максимальне занурення можна отримати у VR-шоломах.З новою формою вони набули нових властивостей та контексту. «АРТЕФАКТ» – це інноваційний український соціально-культурний проект, який на нових прикладах сучасного мистецтва на прикладі аварії на ЧАЕС привертає увагу до важливих питань. Художники запрошують нас переосмислити трагедію нашого минулого. Аварія на Чорнобильській АЕС є прикладом інформаційної катастрофи в одній державі, яка може мати наслідки для всього світу.
